Child Find
What is Child Find?
Child Find is a statewide effort by the State Department of Education and the Department of Rehabilitation Services to locate, identify, and evaluate children with disabilities from birth to 21. The Coffee County Board of Education is presently conducting its annual Child Find Project. The project is an attempt to locate all children with disabilities in Coffee County from birth through twenty-one years of age. If you are aware of a child in Coffee County with a disability or a suspected disability, please contact CrosbyTami with the Coffee County Board of Education at 334-897-5016 or crosbyt@coffeecounty.k12.al.us concerning available services.
How Does Child Find Work?
Early Intervention and Special Education Services work closely with community service agencies, parents, and local school systems to locate children with disabilities. A toll free number is provided for parents or other persons interested in information about referring a child from birth to 21.
